‘Happenstance’ :

The dynamic of the ensemble arises from an uneasy blending of styles. Chris Biscoe’s jazz fluidity takes on a more experimental and rougher edge, which is pitched against the sonic intensity of Guillaume Viltard’s bass, and mediated through a sort of semi-melodic abstraction  from Noel Taylor. Andrew Lisle brings a high energy intensity to the drums. Although there are elements of free jazz - Taylor & Biscoe explore rapid shifts of mood and moments of quiet lyricism.

 

There’s no way this should work, except perhaps by the grace of happenstance…
