Beibei Wang, percussion/drums Noel Taylor, soprano & bass clarinet Veryan Weston, piano
Details: Beibei Wang is classically trained in both western and Chinese percussion, with masters degrees in both countries from the Central Conservatory of Music and Royal Academy of Music. She also adores to experiment and to improvise. She met Noel Taylor (clarinets) though her work with the London Improvisers Orchestra. Veryan Weston, just back from touring with Henry Cow and the music of Lindsay Cooper, can be expected to bring his own unique blend of deep reflection and exuberant panache. Taylor has performed with Veryan Weston before, and the two are delighted to renew their musical friendship in the company of Beibei Wang's outstanding percussion. This event promises to be a very special blend indeed.... If you like music that searches through sound for an inner silence and for phrases that resonate with quiet intensity, you will probably like this. If you also happen to like music that can, alternatively, freely enter into it's own chaos, spitting out phrases in a tumult of fragments - you will probably also be happy.
The evening will divided into two sets, and include a solo from Veryan as well as short duos and the trio.
